I looked and did research for months to find the best quality 37" 1080P LCD TV and everything points to this model. After using this TV in my home office for 2 months I can verify all the positive reviews on this unit.

Sound is excellent if you room is not your main living room. Picture is crystal clear and all of my guest say the same thing " Holy $#$ the picture is amazing"

Remote is a bit large and kind of useless if you have a cable box or direct TV like i do.

Mount this unit on the wall in a spare room not your main room and you will be completely satisfied. also purchase a protection plan because this baby gets hot.

We have it for about a month now. I went to a local electronic store determined to buy a Sony m-series 37", but after standing in front of the array of TV's, this one won my heart. Excellent picture quality. White is bright and pure, color has nice contrast, black is deep. The piano-black framing was simple, classic and beautiful. The remote has good size and useful buttons, easy to use config, and easy to hold. The pause between channel swiching is acceptable (I think Sony takes half a second too long, which is the biggest issue I have with Sony.). Everyone in my family loves this TV. At the time I bought it, Amazon's price was significantly lower than any of the local store on-sale prices. It took about a week to arrive my home in southern CA. I thought this was an excellent buy.

A really impressive TV
Researched and viewed a lot of TV's before going for the 40W4000, a lovely piece of kit and a great price, at 200 quid cheaper than the 100Hz 4500 it was an easy descision. I totally recommend this piece of kit if you want a good looking TV that has a fantastic picture for HD Blueray, XBox360/PS3 gaming and turns in a very good performance on standard TV broadcasts.
It is worth spending a fair bit of time adjusting the settings for each input though as I wasn't over impressed with the 'out of the box' settings, search for other users suggested settings on the web.
Very pleased with my purchase.

Sony does it again - excellent product!
This TV has replaced my beloved 12 yr old Sony Trinitron 29" CRT. I had viewed the Samsung, Panasonic & LG counterparts in both LCD & plasma formats, prior to choosing the Sony (I don't believe in blind brand loyalty).
2 weeks on, and I'm pleased to say that our viewing experience has been transformed by the W4000 - it has far exceeded all expectations! The previous reviewers have waxed lyrical about its performance, and I completely agree with every point. LCD technology has come of age, with picture quality as good as CRT.
I also appreciate the fact that the minimum viewing distance is about 6-8 feet, which suits our mid-sized living room perfectly.
I did take note of the forum comment about the W4500 being better than the W4000. Went to the Sony Centre and watched 10 minutes of 'Iron Man' (BD) on the 2 sets, side by side - and I must admit, there was absolutely no discernible difference whatsoever in any department. So, saved over £250, got free 5 year Sony warranty, and went for the W4000 - in my humble opinion, was a no-brainer!

Excellent Lcd!
After visiting a few high street electrical stores and spending hours trawling through various review sites and forums, I decided to purchase this TV.
I'm so glad I did.
Haven't had it long so I've not tested it to it's full potential, but I must say how good it looks through the standard inbuilt freeview tuner and with a 720p resolution movie, it looks marvellous. The blacks are black, the whites are white and after a little bit of tweaking the colours are lifelike. Can't wait to get a full HD film on the go!
Don't expect deep, booming bass from it's speakers, but what you do get is more than adequate.
Unfortunately, the first set we had delivered had a slight defect on the screen, a noticeable 3 inch dark patch. Thanks to Amazons excellent service, it was replaced within 4 days.
I can't recommend this telly enough. Well chuffed with it....

Room for the Imagination
We like that this that this game combines skill (aiming your Bakugan) with strategy (placement of the cards). We also enjoyed the way the warriors pop open on the magnetic cards -- although sometimes they do it even when they don't land on the cards. Being unfamiliar with the TV show, we felt a little lost at first in the world of Bakugan. But with the help of the colorful, animated Bakugan Web site, we got the gist of what the game is about and how to play. Our attempts to fire the launcher proved somewhat difficult and instructions would have helped. But the launcher isn't necessary. Kids can simply roll the Bakugan like marbles for a fun and action-packed game with their friends.

Conkers for the younger set
I had never heard of Bakugan before I asked a friend what to give her six-year old son for his birthday. Then I did research and still didn't understand what Bakugan is. Anyway, the boy was ecstatic when he opened the present. He played with the pieces for a bit and then tried to explain to me how to play. I still don't really have a clue but he was so excited and intent on his own interpretive play that I have to give it a thumbs up. I remember gifts that excited me and any gift that can transport a child like that is definitely going on the 'must repeat' list. Plus, his mother understands the game and approves, which beats the petanque set I mistakenly gave last year.

If you want Bakugan get the Series 1 or 2. . .
I ordered these thinking I was getting the original starter packs but then B2s showed up in the mail. I was excited because I hadn't seen them before & I knew my son didn't have any of them. Then we opened the package & they are sooooooo cheaply made it's ridiculous. It's as with any toy from China that is in demand, they knew it was a hot item & went cheap on us making it so we'd have to get more. If your child is into Bakugan go on ebay & look up the Series 1 or 2 regular small marbles. They aren't that expensive at the time of writing this because the majority of people want the high number Gs which the B2s do have. But my son is 5 1/2 & could care less about the Gs. Yes, he knows what they are & we play the game but he cares more about the character marble he has & which one goes according to the cartoon at the time. I have gotten every character off of ebay. .. Christmas is coming. . .and I have not been disappointed in ONE of the series 1 or 2 marbles. They are awesome. So, just find out which ones your child wants look them up & order from there. My son has been playing non-stop with the series 1 & 2 marbles since September(learned about this on the school bus) & they still open & shut awesomely. Got the B2s about a month and a half ago & they don't open all the way or their legs are loose. Skyress is an absolute pain in the tush to close. CRAP! So, good luck I know we get what we can for our kids & this is a good price right now compared to ebay ($18 at time of writing this). Just had to send this out so you'd know what I learned!

awesome value for a great toy!
I purchased this starter pack for my 10 year old son for Christmas who recently became very into Bakugan with his friends. This was the best value I have found and even though you don't know which one's you are getting, I think most kids would like the surprise and it makes a great gift!! The figures are very cool, opening only on magnetic surfaces and tucking away into balls or "marbles" used in the game. They are pretty durable, but my son has broken one which he managed to "trade" with a friend to get another one. Apparently even broken they still have value :) ! These are definitely hot right now and hard to find in stores. I recommend this product and especially this starter pack...it's sure to please any young boy on your christmas list!

This is another great product from Sony and I'm very pleased with this one. The TV is ideal for a kitchen or bedroom (I have mine in the kitchen). When I buy a product I like to do lots a research and narrow down the possible products. Out of the HD TVs I had narrowed down a list of Phillips, Samsung and LG - all round the 20" size. I like to go down to a shop to view and listen to the TVs first before buying, and to me - the Sony looked and sounded the best.

I found that the Samsung was the smallest of my list of possible TVs and also looks very pretty, however as I found with the LG - the sound quality was poor with no decent bass. With the Phillips - I wasn't too impressed with the picture, so while I had to reach a little deeper in my pocket I decided to go for the Sony in the end as the sound and picture seemed much better than the rest - it really does look brilliant! This is a big purchase for me but I like to get something that I'm completely happy with so I'm glad I spent the little extra.

The picture quality is pretty awesome, but going from an old CRT style TV I'm going to notice the difference! The sound is even better than my old TV which I thought wouldn't be the case - so a pleasent suprise there.

If you are going to put the TV in a confined space, have a look on the manufacturers website and check the measurements. Be careful as sometimes they list two dimensions, one with a stand and one without.

The Ugg Boot or just Uggs is a generic term for a style of sheepskin boot which has been produced in Australia and New Zealand for almost 200 years. Originally the were called “Ug or Ugh Boots” which is short for “Ugly”. However an American Importer (Koolaburra) presented the idea that the name Ugg comes from the way that the boot “hugs” the wearer’s foot and legs. However because of trademark issues, Uggs are more often than not known in the retail world simply as Sheepskin Boots.

Originally in Australia and New Zealand this comfortable and warm footwear was being worn by social groups such as Bogans, westies and Bevans in public. However, most other Australians would only wear them around the house or at the most just on a trip to the local shop. The boots certainly became popular during the 1960’s with surfers and competitive swimmers as they kept them warm whilst out of the water.

It is thought that many popular Australian actors/actresses have probably being wearing Ugg boots in private for some time, it was only when Pamela Anderson started wearing a pair that she had acquired in Australia to help keep her legs warm during breaks in filming the popular television show Baywatch, that it is thought people in the USA started to take an interest in these boots.

However, since 2003 the boot has become very fashionable in America because of the marketing of the product by an American Company called Ugg Australia (a section of the Deckers Outdoor Corporation). The Ugg Australia Brand was created by Brian Smith who began importing to the USA in the late 1970’s. He then sold the company to Deckers Outdoors in 1995. Actresses such as Kate Hudson (pictured wearing them on a poster for Raising Helen in 2004) and Sienna Miller seem to have increased their popularity. This style of footwear has now become a major product in most major department stores and shoes stores across the globe. However, in Canada it was found that the Ugg boot has become extremely popular with girls at many of the Universities in Ontario as well as on many US campuses.

Although these boots are available worldwide generally in sizes that fit both men and women, and the styles available are pretty much identical it seems more women than men are currently wearing them, especially in the US. Because of this colours such as lavender, pink and pastels have been introduced which specially target the female market.

Because of the US trademark laws you will find that many Australian and US manufacturers who produce this style of footwear are now marketing them as “Sheepskin Boots” rather than “Ugg Boots”.

But in January 2006 the owners of Uggs-N-Rugs (Australia) were able to have the Deckers Outdoor Corporations Australian Trademark for Ugh-boot removed from the Australian Trademarks Registry. This resulted in the decision that the words “Ug Boots”, “Ugg Boots” and “Ugh Boots” could be interchangeable and were a generic term for “Sheepskin Boots”. Beach Party or Luau

This is a great fancy dress costume theme which is becoming more popular for those warm evenings during the summer months. Organise around a BBQ with tropical punches. Costumes are very relaxed but again the accessories will bring it all together; simply these will be from; sun glasses, bottle of sun cream, flip flops or sandals, Hawaiian leis, wristbands, anklets etc, tropical flowers for the hair, straw hat.

Fairies, Princesses

The most common mistake with these costumes is to forget the feet. Both themes normally include pretty dresses, and pretty dresses require pretty feet – unless you are trick or treating, in which case you want warm and sensible footwear.

Fairies have wands and these can be as elaborate or as simple as you want – it would normally depend on the age of the Fairy, the younger the fairy the more simple the wand (as it's more likely to be lost or broken). If you are making one, then a foil or ribbon covered stick – with padded end to protect eyes etc, with an oversized star made from decorated card on the top. Decoration with plenty of glitter and sparkle. Add a few thin strips of ribbon under the star for that final finishing touch.

Pirates

One of the greatest accessories for pirates is the gold foil chocolate coins that you can buy around Christmas. Cheap and cheerful, if it lasts long enough transfer it to a simple black cloth tie-neck purse and attach to the belt. Great for paying off the debts and also helpful if the buffet is a bit thin. Eye patches come in a variety of styles from simple black stiffened fabric to rhinestone encrusted for the glamorous look – your choice will depend on the overall look you are trying to achieve.

With the recent blockbuster pirate themed films there has been a real explosion in the popularity of pirates as a party theme. The range of pirate costumes available is huge and many cover the two themes of pirates and Halloween… Pirate Bones is a classic example of a skeleton suit integrated with a pirate's costume.

Wigs and Makeup

It would be impossible to leave this topic without some discussion on the incredible advances in fancy dress costume wig design and affordability. For very little money you can now purchase a costume wig for almost any theme. For example, for pirates there are pirate's wigs, buccaneer's wigs, pirate wenches' blond wigs, brown wigs, wigs with beads, wigs with hats attached, wigs with bandannas attached and this is before we look at mustaches and beards – with beads, without beads – the choice is truly amazing.

Makeup falls basically into two groups, face paints which are water soluble greasepaint which will require a greasepaint remover. Greasepaint is the more traditional and is what is used in theatre etc. it can also be messy to wear if incorrectly applied. Face paint offers fantastic results and is more easily applied by the amateur. Both are normally available in kits so it is possible to buy a kit that covers one theme or a number of similar themes.
